Set of 50 photographs of the stained glass windows, etched doors and iconic artwork of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.        Wright's early drawings showed rough outlines of stained glass in the "lunettes" that ringed the upper level of the church. At the architect's request, Eugene Masselink completed preliminary designs for the windows even before he started work on the icons. Using primary colors, Masselink painted ingenious abstractions of religious figures that flowed into and out of the cross-in-circle motif so prevalent in the church as a whole... The stained glass windows were deferred in 1959, before the Building Committee had a chance to accept or reject Masselink's designs. In their place the contractor installed single panes of uninsulated clear glass. The "temporary" windows stayed in place for seventeen years, and the inevitable condensation caused considerable damage to the upper-level plasterwork.”        In the mid-1970s, with financial relief in sight, the parish council began to discuss the window project. Over the spirited objections of Jim Mahos, the council decided to ask Wesley Peters for Masselink's designs and an estimate of the final cost.   Communications, however, had already broken down. Father Kasemeotes is certain that the letter was sent. Peters is equally certain that it was never received. Someone at either end, or perhaps in the middle, apparently misplaced the request. The communication failure was, at the very least, regrettable. "I would have moved heaven and earth to get them the original drawings," said Peters.        Unwilling to pursue the subject with Wright's old associates, Annunciation turned, in 1977, to the Conrad Schmitt Studios, a venerable Milwaukee firm with a solid reputation for ecclesiastical work. With constant encouragement from Kasemeotes, the project moved quickly. By April, Helen Hickman, a Schmitt artist, had completed presentation drawings for the sixteen lunettes as well as the narthex and stairwell windows...
