Title: American Bungalow - Winter 2003 (Published quarterly by American Bungalow, Sierra Madre, CA)
Author: Cathers, David; Photos by Vertikoff, Alexander
Description: At Home In A Masterpiece. In a moment of what he now calls "temporary insanity," Milt Robinson bought the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Ward Willits House in 1983. Working with architect John Eifler, he then began the arduous, years-long process of meticulously restoring what had become a dilapidated structure. When he and his wife, Sylvie, were married in 1988, she became the third partner on the restoration team... The Willits House is the first great Prairie House... The leaded-glass designs Wright created for Willits have great Historic importance... Includes 17 photographs. Original cover price $7.95.

Title: American Bungalow - Summer 2009 (Published quarterly by American Bungalow, Sierra Madre, CA
Author: Cathers, David; Photos by Vertikoff, Alexander
Description: Remodeling a home in the Wright style. Left Brain, Wrivght Brain. ...Peter Zak became a collector when he happened to find a Morris chair in a Brooklyn antiques shop during a trip to New York. The route that led Don and Susan to collecting was more circuitous...
A Wright House for the Collection. The passion they developed for Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School is most visibly expressed in two dramatic interior reconfigurations they have undertaken to, in effect, recast their home as a harmonious Prairie School setting for their growing L. & J.G. Stickley collection.
The first was completed soon after they bought the three-story house in 1984. Working with the Hull, Mass., architect Ed Stanesa to reconfigure the interior, they gutted the first two floors, banishing the boxy old downstairs rooms and replacing them with an entry hall, living room and dining room that are separated by low walls and flow together in the easy, open manner favored by Arts and Crafts and Prairie School Architecture... Includes 25 photographs.

Author: Forsyth, Douglas J.
Description: "When less is more. Frank Lloyd Wright's Buffalo Cottages." Darwin Martin Residence (1904 - S.100-102) and Gardner's Cottage (1905 - S.090), and the George Barton Residence (1903 - S.103). "...Many visitors come away from this historic site with a curious reaction: they report more vivid memories of the smaller structures on the property - the four bedroom Barton house, designed for Darwin Martin's sister and brother-in-law, and the 1,700-square-foot Gardener's cottage - than they do of the splendid main house, with its 15,000 square feet and adjoining enclosed pergola and conservatory. ...All the typologies are there, and don't exist anywhere else in the country on one property designed by one architect." Includes 21 photographs by Alexander Vertikoff. Note: we assisted the author by providing historic material from our collection used in preparation for his extensive article. Original cover price $8.95.
