Description: 7) View of the South wall of the
Office. The door on the left leads into the office. The roof is
supported by exposed wood and steel beams. The roof is covered with
translucent panels. Walls are constructed of desert masonry. Forms
were constructed and filled with local rocks and boulders. Concrete
was then poured into the forms. Built in 1939. As one of the first
buildings constructed, the office served as the "dominant
architectural theme for the complex," and embodies many of the
character defining features of the site. Taliesin West Historic

the passageway. In the center of the courtyard is a Memorial to Svet,
William Wesley Peters' first wife. In 1946 when Peters' son Brandoch
was four years old, Svetlana and son Daniel, were killed in an
automobile accident at Taliesin. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the
memorial. The triangle shape, now of concrete, was originally of
redwood, supports three plowshare discs. Set of 25 color 35mm slides

Description: 18) View of the front of the Cabaret
Theater. Frank Lloyd Wright designed the Music Stand in the
mid-1940s for Taliesin. According to the Frank Lloyd Wright
Foundation Archives, this is one of six quartet stands that are
Wright-designed that are known to exist. There are two at
Taliesin, this one at Taliesin West, one is at the Dallas Public
Library, one at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library in Austin,
Texas,
and one in the Zimmerman
House which
is a variation of the "design matured with a more structurally
sound construction than its predecessors." But we have located a
seventh at the Shavin
Residence in
Tennessee. Also pictured are four seats. The red
hexagonal backed chairs are plentiful at Taliesin. The piano sets in
