Frank Lloyd Wright Monograph - The Complete Set Volume 1-12. (Hard Cover DJ, Boxed) Published by A.D.A. Edita, Tokyo.
Publisher’s Description: The development of Modern Architecture has been strongly influenced by the accomplishment of Frank Lloyd Wright. His professional career as an architect spanned more than seventy years and produced more than 400 buildings. With the generous cooperation of The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, we are able to present to you the first complete works of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Volumes 1-8 are monographs which chronologically survey the development of Wright's architectural style. Illustrations consist of photographs and drawings of completed buildings and relevant projects.
Volumes 9-11 present selected preliminary studies that were executed in the course of developing Wright's significant projects, most of which are published for the first time. We are proud to present these drawings which reveal the architect's extraordinary imagination and creativity.
Volume 12 consists of 200 selected renderings that are often considered works of art in themselves. In order to communicate the exquisite quality of the original works, we have paid special attention to the selection of paper and the printing process.
These 12 volumes will confirm Wright's concern for architectural detail, his approach to form and space, and the importance of the natural environment that often accommodates his architecture. We hope that this innovative publication will encourage further consideration of the architect's genius in a coherent manner and establish a renewed ground for scholarly investigation.

Author:
Edited and photographed by Futagawa, Yokio; Text by Pfeiffer, Bruce Brooks

Description: Residential Masterpieces 04. Published in Japanese and English. Text by Pfeiffer: Fallingwater - A Country House for Liliane and Edgar J. Kaufmann. "Fallingwater is a great blessing, one of the great blessings to be experienced here on earth. I think nothing yet ever equaled the coordination and sympathetic expression of the great principle of repose where forest and stream and rock and all the elements of structure are combined so quietly that really you listen not to any noise whatever although the music of the stream is there. But you listen to Fallingwater the way you listen to the quiet of the country." (Frank Lloyd Wright, May 1, 1955.) In 1934, Liliane and Edgar J. Kaufmann desire to build a new country house in there woodland setting in Western Pennsylvania. They occupied and existing cottage there where they came on weekends to get away from the hustle and bustle of Pittsburgh to enjoy and savor the beauty of the natural surroundings. However their cottage had proven insufficient for them, and not well situated. The waterfalls, a feature of the site, we are a great attraction to them and their guests as well..."
